Inoverse Development Update. New Cryosleep Lore Teaser.

Lore egg courtesy of the Easter Bunny. Production is still running at full tilt, and little by little things are coming together and getting properly spooky in the Inoverse. Fatigue, muscle atrophy, and the first signs of a psychosis caused by a frozen over nap, these are bad enough on their own. But where the hell are the other crew members? Is anyone even still alive?

The Horrors of Isolation, Cryosleep, and Survival.

Space is cold, but the loneliness Ino encounters is colder. But if Ino were not Ino, they would probably already be panicking. Instead, even if their mind is perhaps only just holding itself together, they seem not to have lost their sense of humour. If everything is falling apart anyway, you might as well greet the misery with a reasonably dry remark.
Still, there is no time for proper trauma processing right now, because one thing is clear. The ship they are on is in a desolate state. Vital systems seem to be slowly but surely giving up, and now the first priority is to use whatever can still be used from the ship at all. Power, data, supplies, a functioning module, perhaps even a clue about the crew, at this point everything is valuable that is not already completely rotted away or broken down.

What Happened to Ino after Cryosleep.

Only a moment ago, Ino had been speaking to the doctor who put them into cryosleep. There was the harsh light, the sterile looking surfaces of the laboratory, and the biting smell of freshly synthesised cryogel. Everything felt controlled, clean, technical, and almost reassuring. And now? Now everything seems decayed, old, worn down, and spent. Even the cryogel, which under normal conditions should remain stable for over fifty years, has almost completely broken down and now smells more like dry compost and burnt silicon than anything remotely medical. Musty, chemical, and honestly by now probably more like something you could use as fertiliser in the hydroponics garden than in a medical facility.

A Dying Ship, Critical Life Support, and a Failing Cryopod.

When Ino turns their gaze to the flickering panel of their cryopod, the vague unease suddenly becomes very concrete. The display lists symptoms with complete detachment, as if this were a perfectly ordinary routine check. Severe fatigue, progressive muscle atrophy, neural dysregulation, early psychotic symptoms as a result of prolonged cryosleep. Meanwhile the ship groans and creaks around them, as though every metre of metal is giving way under its own weight. Life support is running at critical levels, and even the air smells old. How many circuits have already burnt out, been rerouted in desperation, or simply failed altogether? Most likely this was the final surge of this enormous ship, which only just managed to bring Ino out of cryosleep in a controlled state.

How Long Was Ino Actually in Cryosleep?

Hang on. How long was Ino actually in cryosleep, if the ship around them seems to have aged far beyond its intended lifespan? If this place looks more like a tomb than a high tech laboratory, then one thing is already clear, far more has gone wrong here than a simple technical fault. And if Ino wants to get out of here alive, they now have to find out what on board is still working, what can still be salvaged, and what exactly happened to this ship, its crew, and the damned passage of time.

  • New in-world item: The ultimate cure against cryo hangover

New in-world item: The ultimate cure against cryo hangover

Today we’re adding another small piece to the world of Ino’s Odyssey: a boxed injection solution against cryo hangover.

According to the label “Cryo Hangover Begone” (points for creative pharmaceutical naming 0/10) is used to treat cryo hangover – because apparently waking up from a cryo nap isn’t just strech and hydrate, but a medical situation .

The packaging looks almost too harmless. Soft colours, a cute and friendly stylized figure and the kind of icons meant to make it’s usage feel completely normal and safe.

But even though the packaging more looks like something you’d expect in the shelf next to baby bath salts it is probably not quite as innocent as it looks at first glance 🥺.

We love pros like this because they make the setting feel tangible: everyday objects with very not-everyday purposes.

Thanks for following alond -and please take care out there… we sincerely hope you’ll never need “Cryo Hangover Begone”.

  • In-world UI reveal – 1st draft of Ino Andas cryopod readout

In-world UI reveal – 1st draft of Ino Andas cryopod readout

Today we’re sharing a first little peek into Ino’s Odyssey: an in-world display you’ll see inside the game .

This screen belongs to a cryopod syste, and it’s showing some character data of our main character Ino Anda such as name, profession and Oraxidus Credits. But wait. What are Oraxidus Credits and why does the screen look like it’s running on duct tape and bad decisions?

We love moments like this because they tell you something about the world without a single line of dialogue, because nothing says “welcome to space” like a system screen on a shabby display calmly listing your vitals while you’re frozen like a popsicle.

Visually, this is also a small milestone for us: it’s part of establishing the game’s UI language and tone, which is of course 100% handmade by human artists .

If you’d like to support development and get a closer look behind the scenes, our Patreon gives you access to early content and extras that won’t be available anywhere else .

More early visuals are on the way as we continue building the world around Ino and whatever exactly Ino is waking up into. Until then: enjoy the first glimpse and stay tuned 👽.

Ino’s Odyssey – official project announcement

We’re excited to officially announce Ino’s Odyssey, our brand-new indie game project 🚀.

We’ve now entered pre-production. After months of ideas, sketches, and prototypes we’re kicking off the planning phase: shaping the story structure, locking in the art direction, building our pipelines and laying the technical foundation that will carry the project through full production.

Ino’s Odyssey is a space-set visual novel that drifts between moods and realities: sometimes dystopian, sometimes utopion, sometimes spooky, but always has humour at its heart. It’s designed to be inclusive 🏳️‍🌈, welcoming and full of personality: a story you can sink into, with characters and moments crafted with genuine warmth.

Artisticall, we’re of course committed to handmade digital art, so you can be sure that every illustration, asset and piece of visual storyelling is 100% drawn with love by humans and no AI. We want Ino’s Odyssey to feel lovingly built, intentional and unmistakably personal.

Curious? Your help is needed and highly appreciated. If you’d like to help make this journey possible, follow us and consider supporting the project. You find us on Patreon & ko-fi .

We’ll be sharing more as development continues – including deeper looks at the story, characters, art and the universe we’re building. Thanks for being here at the start of the journey .
